High Road Auctions provides a wide range of auction, valuation and appraisal services for single items to large estates. Our team of experienced and professional specialists have an expert knowledge of a wide range of art, antiques and collectables and have much experience in the legal issues of tax and insurance.
Our valuation services are tailored to meet the needs of private collectors, home owners, solicitors, executors and trustees. We are able to organise the process seamlessly from beginning to end: providing full insurance and probate valuations, creating formal written documents identifying items and outlying specific bequests and arranging the packing and removal of items. We work quickly and efficiently and guarantee meeting short deadlines. For example, a valuation of a three bedroom house will be completed in one day.
Formal valuation services are based on a competitive fee structure starting from £200 + VAT.
In the event of a death or executors, trustees or beneficiaries wishing to dispose of possessions in an estate, High Road Auctions provides a full probate valuation service organising efficient valuation and clearance. In order to determine whether Inheritance Tax applies, a full appraisal of the estate is necessary. Valuations are based on the current market, comparable retail market prices as well as our own experience of auctions. A formal written inventory of the estate is prepared with images if specified. From there we can also advise on the collection and removal of items for auction, where they will then be catalogued for the next appropriate sale. Executors will be notified of each sale the items feature in and the results.
We can provide unbiased professional valuations in order to suggest ways of dividing possessions of an estate. By providing accurate and efficient valuations, we guarantee a fair and impartial conclusion.
High Road Auctions can provide Capital Gains Tax valuations for those with assets that may be liable. CGT applies to art works, collector's items and antiques so accurate and current valuations are necessary to understanding these legal requirements.
